Why we love upcycling and why you should too! (Part 1)

There is a new revolution thats sweeping the nation and its taking what is one mans trash and turning it into something that you treasure!

Gone are the days where furniture, books, clothing and other items that were once destined for the rubbish tip can be sanded down, painted and given a new lease of life. From charity shops, Gumtree and eBay to the side of the road and the newly appointed 'Skip Diving' you can easily find a new project for a rainy day!.

I'll be honest and hold my hands up and admit that l have infact been 'Skip Diving' in a friends skip (Who was just moving into a house that an old lady lived in and left practically all of her possessions) and got some beautiful china crockery - Now you go to John Lewis and price up a Blue China dinner service and your easily looking at £100+ and there is me with my 36 piece blue china set all for the cost of my dignity digging through a skip!

There are endless possibilities when you epicycle furniture, its one of a kind pieces that you are making special to you to fit in with your decor and when you get bored you can give them another coat of paint and you've given it another identity.

As upcycling's popularity grows and grows it is becoming harder and harder to find those WOW pieces but if you want to go and spend the time browsing round the endless amounts of charity shops that litter our high streets your sure to find some absolute beauties!

Come back and read part 2 of this blog, i'll be going round the charity shops where l live to hopefully find my next project and your coming with me!
